You Are Seated In History!
About Us
This building was built in 1792 by Captain William Taylor, a ship Chandler. It is the oldest existing ballast stone and masonry building in the State of Georgia. Along the Savannah waterfront are vestiges of old business sites, cavernous warehouses and faded signs of old taverns. Those were the days when Brown’s Coffee House was fine and famous enough for the entertainment of George Washington in 1791.
You are seated among the original support posts, beams, joists, and stone walls. If you are a visitor, we hope you are enjoying all of Savannah’s beautiful historic district.
Thanks for the privilege of serving you!
